Amanda Newins graduated from James Madison University in 2014 with degrees in mathematics and justice studies and graduated from Regent University School of Law with a J.D. in 2016 . She has previously worked as a prosecutor, focusing on adult felony cases [3, 6]. Newins is currently an attorney at Shannon & Associates, P.C., focusing on criminal and civil litigation. Newins serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar and the Women’s Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Chesapeake. Newins also serves on the Executive Board of the Chesapeake Bar Association as Vice President . Newins has been distinguished as a top lawyer by Coastal Virginia Magazine, and in 2019, she earned the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference Significant Service Award .
