Anthony Kuo grew up in Irvine and went on to attend Southern Methodist University [1, 2]. Kuo was elected to the Irvine City Council in 2018 and chosen by the City Council to be Vice Mayor. He has also served as Mayor Pro Tempore [3]. Kuo served as communications director for the California State Assembly member Ling Ling Chang and on the boards of Atlas PAC, Brandman University’s School of Business and Professional Studies, the Brigham Young University Management Society of Orange County, the Exchange Club of Irvine, the Irvine Valley College Foundation, the Raise Foundation, and the Irvine Children’s Fund [1].
