Carol Haynes is a Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent and Unit Coordinator for Virginia Cooperative Extension. She is an SCNEP Program Assistant in Franklin County, and teaches nutrition, food safety, and smart shopping to low income individuals. Haynes previously worked with the SCNEP program in Roanoke, for Franklin County Public Schools, and with the school division in Highland County. Haynes has attended Patrick Henry Community College, Mountain Gateway Community College, and Averett University [1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9].
Haynes believes that people in charge should learn about community services and reach out to organizations, and that communication is essential .
Haynes plans to support farms and small business owners, and ensure they have the resources they need .
Haynes seeks to support teachers and students .
Haynes believes that mental health is a large issue in the homelessness crisis, and believes in supporting communities and supporting organizations working to help the homeless population .
Haynes aims to expand internet and cellphone service in the Snow Creek area. She also wants to grow partnerships [1, 7].
