Brooke Garrett graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Garrett works as a 2nd grade teacher . She has served as a volunteer within the Higley Unified School District for the past 10 years. Garrett previously served as President of the PTO of San Tan Elementary School .
Garrett would like to lower class sizes to help teachers not be overwhelmed. She would also like to create better work environments to retain teachers, as well as increase substitute teacher pay and find quality subs .
Garrett supports the expansion of CTE, STEM, and fine arts opportunities and programs. She would also like to expand the dual enrollment opportunities to foster an academically rigorous environment .
Garrett supports an increase in funding to improve school resources across Arizona. She believes a lack of funding is a large issue in the state. She would like to prioritize fiscal responsibility while properly allocating funds to classrooms, teachers, and school maintenance. Garrett would like to collaborate with community organizations and the Chamber of Commerce of Gilbert to obtain resources and funding to bridge academic gaps .
