Pozniak grew up in Cobb County, a Sprayberry High School graduate. She graduated from the University of Sydney, the University of Cambridge, and Harvard University with a Ph.D. in education leadership . Pozniak taught on the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Reservation and was also the executive director of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary education .
Due to the pandemic, Pozniak believes a plan must be implemented to aid all grades that were put off by the pandemic. Pozniak wants to implement plans to put students back on track . She wants to create better learning opportunities for teachers and develop an “academic strategy” .
Pozniak wants to create a plan to utilize the $250 million dollars of federal help given for students and teachers. She says that the Board does not have a plan for using this money, and she plans to create one . She will mainly implement literacy and special education plans using this money .
