Key Issues

Parent Involvement

Golla supports parents having the right to make decisions for their children [1]. She wants the curriculum to be more transparent so that parents can see what their children are being taught.

Curriculum

Golla supports focusing on the basics in elementary school, ensuring students are reading by 3rd grade, teaching civics and history, and promoting critical thinking skills. At the highschool level, Golla wants the district to place a focus on STEM and vocational training [1]. She also wants to focus on education that keeps students engaged, to mitigate the learning loss seen over the COVID-19 pandemic [1].

In 2021, Golla made a complaint to district officials regarding library books that she believed promoted Critical Race Theory (CRT) and undermined parental authority [6].
