Key Issues

Reed wants to reduce debt and control spending more [1, 2, 3, 4].

Reed wants to preserve Purcellville’s way of life through not extending town borders and slowing unnecessary town growth to maximize prosperity. Additionally, he supports the Planning Commission’s work regarding zoning ordinances and wants to act according to the town’s Comprehensive Plan [1, 2, 3, 4].

Reed does not support the Rt.7/287 Interchange and says it is not conducive to improving town traffic, as well as posing a pedestrian safety hazard. He also does not support the Vineyard Square project and its corresponding O Street extension nor does he support the Cardinal Corner proposal. Reed does not support the Kuhn plan as he does not support expanding town borders but is open to exploring downscaled alternatives to relocate businesses to a more conducive location. Finally, he wants to minimize utility fees through seeking alternative revenue sources, keeping cash reserves at a level that does not maintain an excess yet is enough to pay incurred debt, and exercising caution when adding properties into the town [2].
