Salewski received his Bachelor’s degree from George Mason Unversity (GMU) in 1992 and self-designed his own major. He worked as a manager at a Domino’s Pizza from 1990-1995. In 1995, Salewski founded and became Vice President of Kokopellis Pizza. Salewski held various other jobs, serving as an account manager and sales representative at Stuart Dean Company and as a real estate agent at Keller Williams Capital Properties. In 2015, Salewski became the Vice President at Vornado Realty Trust for their Architectural Restoration division [1,2].
Salewski supports strategic funding of the Police Department and fire and rescue services .
Salewski advocates for a low and justifiable rate of taxation on residents and small businesses, and believes the city council must cooperate with the City Manager to find other avenues to generate revenue. He supports a re-examination of business industrial zones to maximize functionality, and wants to repurpose or redevelop abandoned business areas .
Salewski wants to work with surrounding jurisdictions, homeless advocacy groups, and Fairfax city police to address the challenges facing the homeless, such as finding rehab, recovery, housing, and medical services in order to get rid of tent encampments in Fairfax .
Salewski supports green spaces, recycling programs, alternative transportation options to cars, and sustainability amongst business and buildings .
