Dave Martin earned his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University. Martin was on the Board of Trustees for Humble Independent School District for 8 years. He then served on the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer for Harris County Houston Sports Authority for 3 years . Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors for Houston First Corporation for the last 8 years. Martin was the Managing Director for Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., a business strategy consulting company for professional services, working with them for 16 years [1, 3]. Since 2012, Martin has served on the Houston City Council as Chair of the City’s Budget and Fiscal Affairs committee and City Council member. In 2020, Martin was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem [2, 4].
