Don Slater is a third-generation Orange resident. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton. He currently works at the real estate brokerage Orange Realty, Inc [1, 2].
Slater served on the City Council of the City of Orange for eighteen years.
Slater received the Tree Hero award in April 1996 from California RE–LEAF and the Orange County Environmental Award in 2000 .
Slater supports the increased funding of the Orange Police Department. He also wants to make sure that rules and regulations are enforced in public parks and spaces .
Slater wants to help unhoused people with mental health crises receive help and also implement policies to protect neighborhoods from violence and thefts .
Slater wants to create coalitions and groups for increased input from community members .
Slater hopes to preserve open spaces and clean areas .
Slater wants to increase transparency within the government and about taxpayers’ money. He also hopes to increase government employees’ compensation and benefits .
