Ellen Andeen

Andeen supports a light-touch approach to hillside developments that balance property rights and natural resources [1]. She wants to prioritize mountain preservation and responsible development [2].

Andeen supports the preservation of the Town’s character [2] to maintain the rural-type feeling in an urban setting [11]. Andeen prioritizes preserving the Town’s open spaces [11]. She voted “yes” on strict code changes for short-term rentals [6] and has linked the population decrease of the town to short-term rentals and homes purchased by corporations [12]. Andeen supports the regulation of short-term rentals and party houses through zoning. Lastly, she supports large lot sizes with no property taxes [1].

Andeen advocates for increased involvement between the community and the police department [8]. She supports using her experience with the police to give the police, fire, and community additional tools [6]. Andeen previously attended Paradise Valley police events such as the Law Enforcement Torch Run held by Special Olympics Arizona [9].

Andeen is fiscally conservative and supports a limited government [1], advocating for no property taxes [6]. Andeen wants to uphold a balanced budget [6] If re-elected, Andeen wants to continue her role as a member of the Investment Committee [6] and help the town council regulate cash reserves [12]. 

Andeen does not support running for Council Member or Mayor for over 2 terms [1] and advocates for a new Town Manager [8].

Andeen is against using government resources to favor family members [1] and supports increasing the involvement of residents in the Town’s general plan [12]. In 2020, Andeen supported a proposal regarding ethics, integrity, and transparency, which did not pass.
