Summary

This ballot measure would amend Article 4, Part 2, Section 1 and Article 5, Section 4 of the Arizona Constitution [1]. The amendment would allow the Legislature to terminate a state of emergency or modify the emergency powers granted to the governor [2]. Additionally, the amendment would provide that a state of emergency is automatically terminated after 30 days unless the Legislature directly extends the emergency powers granted to the governor. This would not apply to emergencies arising from a state of war or those triggered by a flood or fire [1, 3].
