Erin Barr received her bachelor’s degree in political science, sociology, religious studies, and classical studies from Randolph-Macon College and her master’s degree in law from the University of Richmond. After her education, Barr became a law clerk at Norfolk Circuit Court. She then went on to work at the Chesterfield Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, where she served as Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney and Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney [2, 4]. Barr now works at the Colonial Heights Commonwealth Attorney’s Office as a Senior Assistant Commonwealth Attorney [1, 2].
Barr supports mental health resources for nonviolent criminals who have a chance to be reformed in order to make it easier for them to transition back into society. Barr believes that providing recovery and substance abuse resources will help provide steps to reach that goal for nonviolent criminals .
Barr believes that abuse survivors should be accepted into communities with openness .
