Adkins believes in a limited government with more control at the local and state levels.

Adkins believes that the government should not infringe on the right to bear arms. He is against any attempt to pass legislation that limits or bans ownership of weapons or ammunition.

Adkins supports due process and respect for individual property rights to eliminate government interference.

Adkins believes the U.S. is accountable only to citizens and owes no allegiance to any other nation or international organization such as the United Nations.

Adkins supports a border security system that includes physical barriers; technological surveillance, detection, and response notifications; and human components to oversee and manage border crossings. He also advocates for the apprehension and detention of those who attempt to illegally enter without proper authorization.

Adkins is against the current deficit budget of the U.S. and supports a change in spending habits and a balanced budget amendment.

Adkins supports a reform of the existing U.S. federal tax code. He advocates for simplification of the current individual tax code, replacement of the progressive tax system by a flat rate tax, total elimination of the estate tax, and reduction of the current corporate income tax rate to a rate aggressively competitive with other nations.
