Adkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Resource Management and Business from Troy State University in 1982. Adkins is a former President/CEO of Applied Geospatial Solutions International, Inc. At the conclusion of his 20-year career in the United States Air Force, Gary and his wife, Ann, returned to Virginia and moved to Stafford County in 1990, where they reside today. |

He advocates for simplification of the current individual tax code, replacement of the progressive tax system by a flat rate tax, total elimination of the estate tax, and reduction of the current corporate income tax rate to a rate aggressively competitive with other nations.
