Key Issues
Economy
Knight has stated that development fees should remain the same, as they serve as an incentive for developers to bring in and build new commercial and residential projects. He believes that raising development fees would be detrimental and that the city must maintain as low fees as possible in light of rising costs of labor and materials [2].
Community
Knight has expressed support for the construction of a multi-story parking facility downtown. He referred to a $10.6 million federal grant that the city received for a downtown multimodal transportation hub and noted that developers had said they would only invest downtown only if the city got the grant. Knight wants to take advantage of this development opportunity [2].
