Background
Miller has a BS in Biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, and a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He is a cardiologist. Miller has been a member of the Danville City Council since 2008, has been Vice Mayor since 2020, and previously served as Vice Mayor from 2014 to 2016 [1, 7, 12].
Miller has been a Counselor to the Medical Society of Virginia for the Fifth District since 1997, and is the owner and President of Cardiology Consultants of Danville, Inc. He is currently on the Danville Utility Commission and the Danville-Pittsylvania County RIFA, and he was the Fifth District representative to the Virginia Board of Medicine from 1997 to 2001 [1].

Infrastructure
Miller plans to construct shelters at bus stops, as well as sidewalks, drain gutters, and curbs in neighborhoods. He plans to use the $1.5 billion in capital investment secured over the few past years to complete this infrastructure. Miller voted to remove the Danville Long Mill Dam [3, 8].
Education
Miller plans to continue investing in youth sports and seeks to ensure that all school buildings are up to standard. He is an advocate for training on precision machinery. Miller seeks to provide increased funding for schools through the Bond Initiative and tax income from new Danville businesses [3].
Public Safety
Miller seeks to invest in programs and organizations like Project Imagine that address pain and suffering, and he plans to support law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS workers. Miller believes public safety includes the building and maintenance of parks, as well as “simple things” such as crosswalks in high traffic areas. In 2018, Miller sought to increase retirement funds for police officers and firefighters, increase community policing, and create a better police station [3, 13].
COVID-19
Miller is pro-vaccine and urged people to get the COVID-19 vaccine during the pandemic, as well as encouraging wearing masks and social distancing [7, 9, 12].

Miller seeks to find new opportunities to promote fun in Danville. He is a sponsor of weekly concerts [3].
