Background

George Edwards graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi [1]. Edwards is a former Senior Accounting Specialist at ExxonMobil and is a certified public accountant [3]. As an accounting specialist, Edwards received the Corporate Leadership Award from the Minerals Management Service. In 1995, Edwards was elected as vice president of the CFISD Board of Trustees. He later served on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors as a member of the Board of Directors and the Commission for Lawyer Discipline, Chair of the Law-Focused Education Committee and a trustee of the Texas Bar Foundation, where he was Chair of the Investment Committee [2]. Edwards also served as the chair of the Board of Directors of Energy Capital Credit and of Leadership Houston Class XXI, and a trustee for the Neuhaus Education Center [1]. He was recently elected to the Towne Lake Homeowners Association Board of Directors [2]. Edwards is also a deacon at Second Baptist Church [1].
