Background

Glenn Grossman graduated with a BS in Accounting from Penn State University [2]. Grossman started his career at Lybrand, an accounting and consulting firm, in Maryland, and worked at multiple real estate companies. In 2009, he started Grossman Insurance Agency in Cave Creek under Farmers Insurance, where he currently works as an agent [2][3]. Grossman served 12 years on the Carefree Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Scottsdale Mounted Sheriff’s Posse for 5 years and the American Institute of CPAs [3][8].

Key Issues

Community

Grossman supports implementing the Village Master Plan to increase activity in the shopping district. He supports relocation of the Town Hall and expansion of the use of the Amphitheater. Lastly, Grossman supports public/private partnerships to fund museums, arts, and culture [10].

Economy

Grossman does not support property taxes to fund development and the town’s budget [6][10].

Public Safety

Grossman wants citizens to vote on budget adjustments to provide automatic fire and emergency aid [3]. He supports maintaining the current budgets of fire, emergency services, and police departments by using Carefree’s reserve funds to pay for their equipment [6][8]. Grossman supports extending the contract with Rural Metro for fire and emergency services [10] He also wants to keep engines 821 and 825 [8].

Water

Grossman supports increasing transparency of the Carefree Water Consolidation Project by changing the rules for eminent domain [3][6]. 

Elections

Grossman does not support proposition 474 for 4-year staggered terms.  Instead, he supports proposition 473 for two 2-year terms [6].

Infrastructure

Grossman supports hopes to maintain infrastructure development at current levels [8]. Grossman supports the creation of a citizens advisory committee to review development plans and maintain the small-town character. He wants to transfer development rights to protect larger plots of open space.
