Background

Diggs attended Bluefield College and the FBI National Academy for Law Enforcement Management, the latter of which he graduated from in 1995. Diggs began his career in law enforcement as a dispatcher with the Poquoson Police Department in 1976, and was promoted to Sherriff of Poquoson and York County in 2000. Diggs was additionally recognized as President of the Virginia Sheriff’s Association in 2011 [2, 7].

Diggs has served on many boards of non-profit organizations such as the Red Cross and was the founding member of his local Kiwanis Club. Diggs has also worked with the York County Business Association, the VA Association of School Resource Officers, and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference [7].

Abortion

Diggs is pro-life and wants to include parents in the education of their children by supporting teachers and local communities. Diggs was to uphold Governor Youngkin’s abortion policy that allows abortions until 15 weeks unless there is a case of rape, incest, or endangerment to the mother [1, 7].

Economy

Diggs wants to cut back on government spending and stay strict to a budget, and his plan would focus on reducing spending and taxes [1, 7].

Police

Diggs wants to repeal soft-on-crime legislation and push back against the “defund the police” movement [1, 7].
