Background
Jasmine Bowles received her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and her Master’s from the University of Miami. She is a current member of the Clayton County Board of Education, and she has worked as a teacher, curriculum specialist, adjunct professor, and board member in Miami and New Orleans as well as Atlanta [2]. While in New Orleans, Bowles was a policy fellow for the Louisiana Department of Education [5]. She joined Teach for America as a corps member in 2010, and in 2016 founded PROOF Inc. (Plans, Resources, & Opportunities for Organized Freedom) in Atlanta [2]. She also helped charter the Young Democrats of Clayton County [3]. Bowles is the Georgia State Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance [4] and the Georgia State Director for Care in Action [3].
