Jason Anavitarte earned a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Georgia State University and a M.S. in Public Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology . He has represented District 31 in the Georgia State Senate since 2021 and currently serves as vice chair of the Education and Youth Committee . Anavitarte has previously been a member of the Paulding County School Board and City Councilman in Doraville.
Anavitarte has taken part in the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and chairs the Board of Trustees at Chattahoochee Technical College. He has two decades of experience working in business in the private and healthcare sectors  .
Anavitarte opposes gun control legislation such as permit requirements and supports constitutional carry .
Anavitarte is against legislation encouraging discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation into classrooms .
Anavitarte is pro-life, supporting the Heartbeat Bill .
Anavitarte believes Constitutional rights should have prevented COVID-19 restrictions .
Anavitarte proposes a number of reforms, including increased border security, deportation enforcement, prohibiting in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, and denying welfare resources to those with a green card or visa .
Anavitarte believes that there should be no career politicians and promotes term limits for government offices .
Anavitarte has been heavily involved and supportive of the Trump campaign since 2016 .
Anavitarte advocates for accelerating infrastructure projects such as one along I-20 .
Anavitarte promotes eliminating the Core Curriculum, prioritizing technical colleges for trade jobs, and increasing teacher salaries .
Anavitarte believes in assisting farmers in competing with larger agricultural corporations and protecting them from nuisance lawsuits .
