Jennifer Lynn Economy graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Administration of Justice. Economy is a career public investigator, previously working within various bureaus in the United States, including spending a year as a surveillance investigator for the CDC-established Virginia Violent Death Reporting System (VVDRS) . Economy is currently a licensed private investigator and caregiver for senior citizens .
Economy advocates for full compliance with 504s and IEPs and increased support programs for children with disabilities. During her time as a parent with children attending Chesapeake Public Schools, Economy wrote emails and spoke at meetings advocating for increased mental health programs for students during COVID-19 lockdowns .
Economy wants to increase transparency between elected officials and constituents by establishing student and parent advisory committees considering more parent opinions on school curricula . Economy is against the teaching of divisive concepts in schools. In June of 2022, Economy filed a complaint to pull a graphic novel from school libraries. Though she claims her request was denied, on the school board, Economy wants to expedite the process of removing books deemed inappropriate .
Economy supports expanding access to care and resources for children of servicemembers. Economy is in favor of a policy that would allow military families who homeschool to participate in sports and extracurricular activities .
