Background

Jerry Weiers is the incumbent mayor of Glendale and a pilot. Weiers was first elected Mayor of Glendale in 2012. Before serving as mayor, he represented the West Valley in the State Legislature for nearly eight years. He served as Chairman of the House Military Affairs and Public Safety Committee. Weiers created the Annual Stand Up for Veterans event, which happens every September, and the Mayor’s Big Dog Run, which happens every other year [1, 3].
