Jesus ‘Jesse’ Sandoval has served on the Fontana City Council since 2012. He previously worked for the Fontana Unified School District for 20 years. He has also served on the City of Fontana’s Parks and Recreation Commission, the League of California Cities Community Services Policy Committee, and the League of California Cities Governance, Transparency and Labor Relations Policy Committee. He has helped to establish a Parent-Teacher-Student  Association (PTSA) at Sequoia Middle School, is a youth athletics coach, and is a sponsor of the annual Veterans’ Day Essay Contest [1, 5]. 

Sandoval has lived in Fontana since 1967 and he and his wife Mary raised their three children in Fontana [1].

Key Issues


Sandoval has previously opposed the construction of new warehouse facilities in southern Fontana and supports implementing a 90-day warehouse moratorium [3, 4]. He wants to improve road quality and freeway access [5]. 



Sandoval supports the proposed beach overpass and Ventana development [5].

Public Safety

Sandoval wants to ensure the Fontana police and fire departments are well funded. He supports the use of the Fontana Rapid Response Team [5]. 



Sandoval supports the construction of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and mixed-use developments that include housing and small business storefronts. He wants to provide first-time homebuyers assistance [4].
