Karina Talamantes graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Regional Development . She became an intern for the U.S. Department of Education, specifically for the White House Initiative for Educational Excellence for Hispanics . In 2018, she became the Chief of Staff for Sacramento’s Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby, helping plan and execute community projects [3, 4]. She has also been the Vice President of the Sacramento County Board of Education since 2018. In addition, Karina Talamantes is a small business owner of a company called Frutazo Stands .
Karina Talamantes supports economic investment into low-income neighborhoods, working with neighborhood associations, faith based leaders, non-profits, and community leaders to bring activities and events to District 3, and working with Sacramento’s Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment division, libraries, and schools in order to bring more activities to the area .
