Marshall Orenic received his Associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Laurel Ridge Community College. After graduation, Orenic moved out to Colorado. He worked in various restaurant management positions in Colorado as well as when he moved back to the Harrisonburg area 10 years ago. Recently, Orenic has moved to the insurance industry and has held various management and sales related jobs with Massanutten Resort [2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8].
Orenic believes the school board budget could be allocated more wisely [3, 8].
Orenic argues that keeping public officials such as police officers and city managers is important. Furthermore, Orenic advocates for making sure all parts of the city have representation on council .
Orenic believes in lowering the real estate tax. Furthermore, Orenic advocates for laws in favor of real estate developers [3, 6, 7].
Orenic believes in promoting awareness for mental health and promoting existing resources to help mental health challenges .
Orenic believes the city needs to be more timely when reacting to overpopulation, specifically highlighting the overcapacity of Harrisonburg High School and the city’s 12-year wait before responding, and he seeks to plan for future growth [3, 8].
