Mary Gaudio graduated from Alhambra High School and attended Arizona State University. She has worked in advertising for 10 years.
Gaudio has held Board leadership positions in PTAs, Booster Clubs, and the Young Men’s Service League of Allen in Texas . She has been a K-8 Substitute Teacher and volunteered with many non-profit organizations such as Playworks of Arizona, New Pathways for Youth, American Cancer Society, and United MSD Foundation .
Gaudio wants all students to feel safe in a classroom, protected from violence, bullying, and financial hardships. She believes diversity and inclusion can help accomplish these goals .
Gaudio opposes the voucher programs and plans to advocate for adequate funding from the state [1, 3].
Gaudio wants to improve performance on proficiency test scores. She believes more funding is needed to continue innovative programs including mobile STEM labs and calming stations that improve student progress. Gaudio opposes discrimination against LGBTQ children and book bans by the state legislature. She wants a “full and accurate account” of history to be taught. Gaudio wants students to receive the same educational opportunities throughout the district .
Gaudio wants to build trust between parents, teachers, and administrators through communication and active listening .
