Mary Jo-Ann Guinchard was originally born in Dallas, Texas, where she was raised alongside three other siblings. In Dallas, she earned a Bachelor of Music at the Southern Methodist Univeristy (SMU) where she joined the Actors Equity Association, an organization and union she is still part of today [1]. 

Currently a resident of Ridgewood, New Jersey, Guinchard was also the former elected Mayor of the Village of Tuxedo Park, New York, a former elected Member of the Village of Tuxedo Park Board of Trustees, and a former Member of the Planning Board for Orange County. Alongside her career in public service, Guinchard has traveled the nation to pursue a musical career. Most notably she performed with Gene Barry in the La Cage Aux Folles tour on the West Coast [4]. 

Guinchard’s role as a deputy liaison between companies and the AEA union inspired her to take up public service in New York and New Jersey. 

Through her career, she met her husband who she has raised three children with in Ridgewood [1].

Key Issues


Guinchard would work to “defend parent’s rights to direct their child’s education”. She would also commit to “promot[ing] school choice including technical, trade and vocational schools” [4].


Guinchard is focused on “reduc[ing] property taxes while improving county services”. She also believes that taxes must be reduced for small businesses to foster a “business climate” [2].
