|Michael Dickinson studied criminal justice, urban planning, and public policy at Virginia Commonwealth University. He grew up in Richmond and currently runs a local business. Dickinson was convicted of criminal misdemeanors in 2018 and 2019, including larceny and obtaining money by false pretense. Both charges, which arose from a vape shop business deal a few years earlier, were initially felonies, but Dickinson pleaded no contest to reduce misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to twelve months in jail. Additionally, the Richmond GOP filed a complaint to the police alleging Dickinson committed “serious election fraud.”|
Dickinson advocates for the police force and does not align himself with the Black Lives Matter movement.
