Background

Sheriff Boudreaux is the current president of the California State Sheriffs’ Association, representing all of California’s 58 local sheriffs [1].

Born in Porterville, California, Mike Boudreaux grew up in the Sierra community of California Hot Springs. At 19, Boudreaux joined the Tulane Police Department as a cadet [4].

Certificated in Criminology and the Administration of Justice, Boudreaux also holds an Associate of Science Degree in the Administration of Justice. Boudreaux also graduated from the Los Angeles Police Department’s WestPoint Leadership Academy and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. For the past 37 years, Boudreaux has worked numerous jobs with the Tulane County Sheriff’s Office [1].

On October 8, 2013, Boudreaux was appointed Sheriff-Coroner of Tulare County by the Board of Supervisors; he was elected to become the 30th Sheriff of Tulare County in 2014 before his re-election in 2018 and 2022. As Sheriff-Coroner, Boudreaux led Operation LOCCUST, an operation to eradicate marijuana operations in the San Joaquin Valley [3].
Locally, Sheriff Boudreaux serves as the chairman of the Central Valley High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program [1].

Key Issues

Immigration

Boudreaux believes that Biden’s immigration policies leave America vulnerable. Supporting a border wall, tracking systems, and an immigration overhaul, Boudreaux also wants to allow local law enforcement to work with federal partners like ICE and CBP to prosecute those who cross the border unlawfully [1].

Taxes

Boudreaux believes that new or higher taxes will kill jobs and investment in our economy. Specifically, Boudreaux believes that Biden’s hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents will antagonize and unfairly raise burdens on Americans [1].

Healthcare

Bordeaux believes that Obamacare has had a detrimental effect on Americans by boosting costs and decreasing accessibility. As a result, Boudreaux supports repealing Obamacare [1].
