Monica Robinson earned a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. She spent over 15 years as a Special Educator for Rockingham County Public Schools. Robinson is the co-founder of the Harrisonburg Rockingham NAACP chapter and was first elected President of the chapter in 2017. In September 2020, Robinson became the first executive director of the Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project. Robinson also serves as a board member for Our Community Place [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9].

Robinson hopes to increase opportunities for affordable housing . She seeks to establish a community of restoration and hope for all, especially those facing homelessness .
