Nancy J. Vehrs received her bachelor’s degree in economics from William& Mary. After pursuing further education, Vehrs served in the Fairfax County Government as a Budget Analyst for the Police Department, and additionally as Clerk to the Board of Supervisors. She then went on to become President of the Virginia Plant Society. Vehrs has been a recipient of many flora-related awards, such as the Cox Conserves Heroes Award [3].
