Natalie Oschrin graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in American Studies, History, and Art History and from the University of South Carolina with an MA in Hospitality and Tourism Management [1, 2, 7]. Oschrin is a wedding sales manager and worked at the Quirk Hotel as an events and sales manager [1, 2, 3, 6]. She attended the Sorensen Institute for Public Leadership high school program .
Oschrin wants to lower the cost of housing in Charlottesville by building more houses in town, reducing parking minimums, increasing the budget for subsidized units, and incentivizing the building of affordable units [1, 4, 5, 7].
Oschrin wants to reduce the amount of traffic by investing in alternatives to using a car such as sidewalks and bike lanes, as well as traffic-calming infrastructure [1, 4, 5, 7].
Oschrin wants to address underlying causes of crime such as food and housing insecurity and access to good healthcare in order to improve public safety [1, 4, 7].
Oschrin wants to encourage the University of Virginia to both build more housing for students and increase housing density. Oschrin wants to push for a payment in lieu of taxes program to access funding from UVA in order to increase funding for local schools and affordable housing .
