Orlando Sanchez graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in political science [1, 2]. He also served as part of the United States Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard. Sanchez served three terms on the Houston City Council where he was assigned to the Budget Committee [1]. Sanchez was elected to the Harris County Treasurer where he worked for 12 years, won awards for transparency in 2010 and 2011, and served as vice-chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee for the County Treasurers Association of Texas [1, 3, 4].
