Patricia King graduated from Howard University, attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville to become a physician, and completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. She opened her own medical practice in Chesapeake and often discusses mental health . She is a psychiatrist and has served on the Chesapeake City School Board since 2018 [4, 5].
King believes gun violence must be addressed due to the trauma it inflicts on children and supports legislative change .
