Patti Serrano graduated with a BS in Microbiology and Master’s in Clinical Research Management. She currently works as a Research Project Director in Arizona State University . Patti has been involved with research and education to advance children’s health and develop programs around a child and their family for over two decades. She has translated her research into community practice and meetings with stakeholders . She was a member of the Future Leaders of Arizona .
Serrano wants to develop a mentorship program between veteran and new CUSD educators 
Serrano supports a student representative program and wants to listen to the needs of students, addressing their needs from academics to mental health [6,7,9]. Serrano also believes that proper investment can close gaps and prioritize a Whole Child Approach .
Serrano supports establishing a space for dialogue between the district and the students .
Serrano opposes using taxpayer dollars in for-profit institutions and emphasizes proper investment .
Serrano wants to prioritize reviewing reports beyond budgets and looking at items such as teacher retention rates, academic achievement, etc. to work for future goals .
