Background

Rebecca Kanter earned a B.A. in Political Science at UC Irvine. She then earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law. Kanter has been a Civil Rights Coordinator and Ethics Advisor for the US Attorney, and an associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. She is currently an Assistant United States Attorney. [2]. Kanter is on both the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Bar Association and the Lawyers Club of San Diego [3]. Some of Kanter’s achievements include the Council of Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Award for Investigative Excellence (2018), the O’Melveny & Myers LLP Warren Christopher Values Award (2017), the Federal Bar Association’s Elaine R. “Boots” Fisher Community Service Award (2015), the San Diego County Bar Association’s Service Award for Service By a Public Attorney (2014), the San Diego Metropolitan Magazine 40 Under 40 Award (2012) and the San Diego Coastkeeper Volunteer Hall of Fame Award, (2010 & 2011) [2].
