Background

After graduating high school, Sam Gross enlisted in the Marine Corps. Gross served in Kosovo, Africa, and Iraq. After serving, Gross studied Remedial Mathematics and later received his Ph.D in Mathematics and Cryptography. Gross has since served in several jobs in academia, most recently serving as a professor at NVCC (Northern Virginia Community College). Furthermore, Gross is currently a Non-Profit Contractor. Gross has kids currently attending Manassas City Schools [1,3].

Gross hopes to increase the emphasis on math, reading, and writing. Furthermore, Gross believes the academic standard has been lowered through actions such as a minimum grade on an assignment and that deadlines are less emphasized.
