After immigrating with his family from Korea at the age of 13, Steve S. Lee attended Annandale High School [5]. Lee is the owner of ABC Financial Services, a commercial and residential real estate company, and the owner of Annandale Properties LLC, a real estate management company. He serves as president of the Korean American Association of Greater Washington Metropolitan Area and helped establish the Korean Community Center as well as the annual KORUS Festival [3]. He also volunteers with the Fairfax County Police Chief’s Council on Diversity Recruitment and the Committee for Dulles. In addition, Lee has served as Mason District representative on the Fairfax County Economic Advisory Commission and Executive Member of the Taste of Annandale planning committee [5].

Lee supports fully funding public schools to make sure that they have the resources needed to provide accessible education. He also wants to make sure that students have access to mental health programs and protection from gun violence [1].


Lee advocates for transparency and access to government services. He hopes to form a community advisory committee that enables residents to communicate with the committee and with one another through a “Mason Neighbor” online platform [1].


Lee supports increasing affordable housing to encourage economic development. He also believes in “smart growth,” creating mixed-use developments in safe neighborhoods while preventing urban sprawl. Lee hopes to work closely with Mason District’s Planning Commissioner to appoint a task force that will review the Annandale Comprehensive Plan and focus on land issues [1].


Lee plans to create a task force to study Mason’s mass transportation routes and make Mason more easily accessible to the Metro. He also encourages alternate forms of transportation and hopes to implement more sidewalks and crossings to make Mason more pedestrian-friendly [1].
