Thomas Schoaf graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a J.D. and B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering . Schoaf has his own private practice of law and is an attorney . He was previously the President of Adapto, Inc., a manufacturing company in Goodyear. He was first elected as Mayor in 2006 . In addition to serving as the City’s Mayor, Schoaf serves on the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Economic Development Committee, and serves on various boards and councils including the Arizona League of Cities and Towns Executive Committee, Abrazo Hospital West Campus Trustee, and President’s Council of Estrella Mountain Community College .
Schoaf supports the development of Litchfield Square as a downtown walkable district, including the creation of a vibrant downtown center. He would like to encourage all businesses to design their operations to utilize the park’s open space. Schoaf hopes that this will attract people and provide traction for the development and the businesses .
Thomas Schoaf intends to protect neighborhoods through appropriate traffic planning efforts. He also wants to better connect and integrate the city to the northern neighborhoods with their atmosphere and environment .
Schoaf wants to promote family-centered and healthy neighborhood environments in Litchfield Park’s neighborhood. He idealizes the City to be able to accommodate families with different situations and backgrounds. He wants Litchfield Park to provide resources for an active and well-connected lifestyle for all families .
