Augherton was the first elected mayor of the Town of Cave Creek, and he has been a town council member, planning and zoning commissioner, member of the board of adjustment, part of the MAG regional council representing Cave Creek, member of the Arizona Judicial Advisory Commission, and member of the Maricopa County Superior Court [1]. Augherton is the former president and chief executive of the Arizona Association of Industries [3].
