Tyron Jordan earned a B.A. in Government from California State University – Sacramento. After college, he served in the army for 7 years. He currently works as a paralegal for the CA Attorney General. Jordan is a member of the Oakland Library Advisory Commission, a member of the Oakland Rotary Club, where he volunteers with the KinderPrep Committee distributing books to low-income families, and a volunteer for Veterans of Foreign Wars [4]. He previously served as a shop steward and union organizer for SEIU Local 1000 and as a Senator Bernie Sanders delegate-at-large for the 2020 DNC [3].

Jordan opposes the Oakland A’s Howard Terminal Luxury Village Project [1]. 



Jordan supports extending the eviction moratorium, and enforcing rent control and tenant protection policies. He wants to decrease gentrification [1]. 



Jordan wants to provide immediate access to permanent housing, access to support and treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues, and double the number of available transitional housing beds. He wants to provide counseling for homeless individuals and implement a data gathering system to accurately count Oakland’s homeless population [1].
