Background

Dr. Viola Garcia has an Ed. D. from the University of Houston, and currently serves as Aldine ISD Trustee as Position 7, and has served on the board since 1992 [3][4]. Garcia is a former professor at Houston University in the department of urban education, and has also previously served as a teacher, special needs resource teacher, administrative coordinator and principal in Houston ISD [2, 5]. In 2021, Garcia was elected as President of the National School Boards Association. She is a member of the Mexican American School Board Members Association, and former president of the Texas Association of School Board [1].
