Willard G. Maxwell Jr. received a BS in Exceptional Education from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree in Divinity from Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. He also earned his Pastor Counseling Certification from Emory University. DMaxwell is a licensed broker and owns Maxwell Realty, LLC. He serves as Chair of the Board of Review for the Newport News Real Estate Assessor’s Office. He serves as Volunteer Police Chaplain for Newport News Police Department. Moreover, he is a member of: Newport News Police Foundation Board, School Construction Master Planning Committee for Newport News Public Schools, Newport News Planning Commission, Newport News branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. DMaxwell is a senior pastor at New Beech Grove Baptist Church and an adjunct professor at the William Harvey Leadership Academy at Hampton University. He also serves as a partner and community liaison between several organizations and foundations. He conducts real estate investing and development workshops for churches and communities .
Maxwell seeks to increase the quality of life in his region through homeownership, fair housing practices, and accessible training opportunities on financial management, real estate investing, and economic development .
