Daryl Day | Director of Arizona
Daryl is a senior at BASIS Scottsdale High School. She’s interested in civic engagement and politics, especially foreign policy. Daryl enjoys debate and spends many of her weekends competing at tournaments. Through The Polling Place, she seeks to improve voter education and turnout. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports with her family, especially baseball, gardening, and baking.
Sahil Sud | Director of Arizona
Sahil is a senior at BASIS Scottsdale. He is interested in economics, politics, and environmental justice. Through The Polling Place, Sahil seeks to educate voters and increase political participation, especially among young voters. In his free time, Sahil enjoys working for political advocacy, watching sports, and playing with his dogs.
Nandini Warrier | Director of Arizona
Nan Warrier is a sophomore at Paradise Valley High School. She loves writing, drama, literature, and debate. She has participated in multiple academic competitions and wants to continue in the future. Through The Polling Place, she seeks to help people vote and spread awareness about important issues. In her free time, she likes to play the piano, bake, and run.
Catherine Jiang | Arizona Research Team
Catherine is a senior at BASIS Scottsdale. She’s interested in gender equality, foreign affairs, psychology, and economics. Catherine is in an “Outstanding Teen” program, tutors students that lack resources to academic institutions, and is passionate about debate and dance. By working with The Polling Place, she hopes to increase voter turnout and educate current/future voters, especially for elections that aren’t covered by the news. For fun, Catherine enjoys running, watching sunsets, and solving puzzles with her family.
Bhavya Suggula | Arizona Research Team
Bhavya is a freshman at the University of Virginia. She’s interested in politics, international affairs, especially human rights issues, and law. Bhavya is passionate about giving back to her community and participates in social justice initiatives and nonprofit organizations. During the summer of 2020, she started a chapter of PURE People for Urban and Rural Education, offering underprivileged children an opportunity for education. Through The Polling Place, she seeks to improve people’s participation in the political process as well as decrease political apathy.
Myra Kamal | Arizona Research Team
Myra Kamal is a senior attending Rancho Solano Prep School and was recently named the Youth Poet Laureate for the city of Phoenix. She is interested in politics, current events, and international relations, and hopes to pursue these fields in college. Through The Polling Place, she hopes to contribute to resources that inform voters and communities.
Chloe Rozalsky | Arizona Research Team
Chloe is a freshman at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. She is involved in Content Lead for Arizona Science Center’s Teen Advisory Board and Parliamentarian for her school’s chapter of HOSA Future Healthcare Professionals. Through The Polling Place, she hopes to help educate voters so that they can make informed political decisions. In her free time, Chloe enjoys reading, baking, and playing with her dog.
Jan Dwayne Cacnio | Arizona Research Team
Dwayne is a sophomore in the CREST Engineering program at Paradise Valley High School. He is deeply interested in civil rights issues, environmental issues, and foreign policy. Being born in the Philippines has influenced his interest in foreign policy and his volunteer work with the Phoenix Asian-American Leos Club. Dwayne is also involved in various clubs at school, including Speech & Debate, New Global Citizens, and Model UN. The low voter turnout and the lack of information on down-ballot races are what drove him to join Polling Place. In his spare time, he enjoys playing badminton, board games, and geography games.
