The Team

Each state’s chapter of The Polling Place is led by one to three regional directors.

Aarav Motivala | NJ Research Team

Aarav is a freshman at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey. He’s interested in macroeconomics, world relations, and political science. Through his time volunteering at numerous organizations and positions, Aarav seeks to improve voter turnout on a large scale, starting with his own community. Working at the Polling Place, Aarav conducts research on local candidates with the aim of spreading political awareness. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, listening to music, and spending time with friends.

Sarina Shah | NJ Research Team

Sarina is a freshman at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, where she competes on the public forum debate team periodically. Sarina also has a large interest in gender studies and sociology, as well as civic engagement between peers. Through the Polling Place, Sarina seeks to work with her peers to incentivize voting in all types of elections. In her free time, Sarina loves sewing, writing and reading.

Ethan Hong | New Jersey Research Team

Ethan is a sophomore at Ridgewood High School who is interested in business and economics. He has participated in clubs like DECA and Speech & Debate and has found success. With The Polling Place, Ethan hopes to make a positive impact on his comminuty and increase voter awareness with his services. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and football, as well as hanging out with his dog and friends.
