Background
Derrick Clarke graduated from Virginia Tech, receiving an undergraduate degree in mathematical and electrical engineering. He also received a graduate degree in mathematics as well as electrical and computer engineering [1, 2, 3].
Over the pandemic, during his spare time, Clarke learned as much as possible about the benefits of healthy soil. Starting in 2021, he started attending Loudoun County Soil and Water Conservation meetings, as well as attending agricultural tech conferences, such as the Conservation in Loudoun Fair. He also presents and comments at virtual conferences regarding agriculture [1, 4, 6].
