Background
Jamie Aldama graduated from Glendale University with a degree in City Government and also graduated from the Hispanic Leadership West Institute. Aldama is a current Councilmember representing Glendale’s Ocotillo District, having begun his term in December 2014 [1, 2, 4]. He was re-elected in August of 2018 for a second term, and during one year (2022) of this term, he served as the Vice Mayor. He is a former board member of the Glendale Elementary School District Governing Board and the National League of Cities – Community and Economic Development Committee. Aldama has served on many boards for Glendale Government, including the Government Services Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Planning and Zoning Commission, and many more. He is currently a member of Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). He was also recently re-appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2023 Public Safety and Crime Prevention (PSCP) Federal Advocacy Committee [1].
