Background
Jana Jackson graduated from Governor State University Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in K-12 education and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. Jackson is a former high school teacher and college professor in both Illinois and Arizona. As a high school teacher for disadvantaged students, Jackson was able to significantly improve the reading level of her students. Jackson has also worked with NASA as an educational specialist and the non-profit corporation K.I.D.S. which helps prepare kids for the real world.

Jackson wants to support reform in education through funding and changes in the curriculum taught. She especially wants to improve the STEM curriculum. Additionally, Jackson believes the money provided to schools is currently mismanaged and should be allocated by the number of students. Lastly, Jackson believes a four-year university is not for every student.
